doema asked: Wow your words are so powerful! (Even though you talk about serious topics.) Where did you learn to write like that?!
Thank you for the compliment.
The truth is, I didn’t learn anywhere. I just started writing like this once I started writing poetry. I hate traditional poetry and simply needed to write after not being at school for so long. What I wrote just kind of came out like this. Most people seem to dislike what I write, and although magazines and some anthologies accept my work for publication, the majority of people (especially on here) seem to like and write broken free verse which is simplistic in language and lacking in form if not done properly.
In my eyes, trying to be a lesser, less vulgar Bukowski in style doesn’t work. I’d rather see excellently written traditionalist poetry like Shakespeare, than stuff that is written as free verse in an attempt to cover ‘talent’ (I hate that word).
I’ve started ranting now! And might lose followers for this, which may cause my life force to dwindle. Anyway, most poetry published on here, I believe, is the reason people don’t like poetry nowadays; it’s dull and repetitive, with no creative courage or flare. Not that my work has flare…
On the other hand, masturbation is a kingdom which should be frequented often.
